After graduating with a BS degree, Rick started his career with IBM Systems Technology Division in Austin, Texas as a process & technology development engineer. Rick then moved to Motorola Semiconductor Products Sector in Austin, Texas where he was manager of flip chip packaging technology and manager of FSRAM Module Manufacturing Operations. In 1998, Rick started with Dell Worldwide Procurement as a senior manager in supplier quality engineering where he focused on key areas of new product introduction, supplier development and operational quality. Developed infrastructure and systematically implemented strategic initiatives impacting performance, resources, process, and tools. In 2001, Rick advanced to Director/Senior Manager in Product Platforms at Dell Worldwide Procurement where he scaled human and capital resources, managed a global team of 30 people and up to $2B spend portfolio, and transitioned supply base from North America to Europe and China.
In 2010, Rick moved to Advanced Technology Materials, Inc. where he was Director of Supply Chain. He implemented a business continuity management system and created cross-functional supplier management teams to drive strategic alignment between supply chain, engineering, and quality, improving organizational effectiveness of supplier management activities. At present, Rick is employed at Flextronics in Austic, Texas as Director of Strategic Supply Chain where he leads a team of supply chain management professionals to develop and implement world class supply chain strategies that provide Flextronics and end customers with a strategic market advantage.
Rick has professional affiliations as a registered professional engineer in the state of Texas, a member of the International Microelectronics and Packaging Society, a member of Central Texas Electronics Association and the Institute for Supply Management. Rick resides in Austin, Texas.
