Dr Christi Luks Teaching Professor and Associate Chair |
Dr. Christi Patton Luks is a Teaching Professor and Associate Chair in Linda and Bipin Doshi Department of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering at Missouri S&T. She has a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering and M.S. in Applied Mathematics from the University of Tulsa and a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Texas A&M. Prior to joining Missouri S&T, Dr. Luks was Applied Associate Professor of Chemical Engineering at the University of Tulsa.
Dr. Luks was elected as a fellow of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) in recognition of her contributions to the chemical engineering field. She has been a member of AIChE for several years. Her first leadership role in the organization was chairing the Women’s Initiative Committee (WIC) in 2006. That role propelled her to join the Societal Impact Operating Council (SIOC), which she chaired in 2011, and to participate in multiple activities with the K-12 Committee and the Global Societal Impact Committee (GSIC). Luks has been active in the AIChE education division and on the student chapters committee. She has served as judge for the minority affairs committee scholarship awards and several competitions: student design, student paper, regional Chem-E-Car Safety and Engineering 4 Good.
She is Vice-President of Member Affairs of the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) and has served as Vice-President of Professional Interest Councils (PICs), chair of PIC I, chair of Zone III, and chair of the Chemical Engineering Division of ASEE.
