Charlie is currently the Business Director, Americas and Asia for INEOS Melamines, a unit of INEOS Capital Limited. In this role, Charlie is responsible for P&L and directing all business operations and strategic planning. He also leads execution of the strategy to establish complete business operations in the Asia region. This includes organizational design and staffing, establishment of legal entities, and start-up of manufacturing and laboratory facilities. Charlie also serves as Director for INEOS’ entities in the US and Singapore.

Charlie’s career began in 1984 as a process engineer for Monsanto Company in St. Louis, MO, and since then, he has held positions in engineering, operations management and business leadership for several global specialty chemical business units. While in manufacturing, he led multiple project teams which achieved a major turnaround in unit performance. In 1995, Charlie became Global Business Manager for two specialty chemical business units, and again led business teams which delivered significant improvements in financial performance. Charlie joined Solutia’s Surface Specialties business unit in 2000 as a Business Manager for the Americas and Asia, with P&L responsibility for the 2,000 product Liquid Coating Resins business line. He also served as Managing Director on the board of Solutia’s joint venture in India. In 2005, Charlie joined INEOS Capital Limited, and has served since then in his current role.

Over his career, Charlie has traveled to over 30 countries. He deeply enjoys the cultural aspect of conducting business in the chemical industry. Charlie and his wife, Christine, reside in Atlanta, Georgia, and they have two children, Katie and Andrew. Charlie was inducted into the Academy in 2013.
