Paul served in the U.S. Naval Reserves from 1944-1946 and when discharged was the Intercept Officer on the destroyer, USS Harwood, DD 861. Paul enjoyed a 39-year career with the Aluminum Company of America, located in various areas of the country. In 1983, he retired as Staff Buyer in the Procurement Department at the Point Comfort Operations of ALCOA. His professional activities included membership in the Purchasing Agents Association. Paul's community involvement included serving as an officer in both the Local Rotary Club and Lions Club. He is currently a member of the Harper Chamber of Commerce and served on the Board of Directors of the Harper Pioneer Museum. In 1993, Paul attended his 50-year reunion at MSM-UMR and continues to be very involved with the Class of '43 activities. He has been active in the Alumni Association as a Class Coordinator. The Rothband Memorial Scholarship Fund, in memory of his mother, aunt, and sister, has been established to help chemical engineering students. Also, Paul and Mary established the McCrae, Anderson, Rothband Memorial Scholarship Fund in memory of Mary's Parents -Mr. & Mrs. H.G.S. Anderson. Mr. Anderson graduated from MSM with the Class of 1909 with a degree in Metallurgical Engineering. Paul has done volunteer work at the VA Hospital in Kerrville, Texas and presently serves as Lay Reader for St. Michael and All Angels Anglican Episcopal Church in Kerrville. He and his wife Mary joined OGS in 1984. Paul and Mary reside in Harper, Texas. Paul was inducted into the Academy in 1996.
