Bob started with the Pritchard Corporation (now part of Black & Veatch) as a Process Design Engineer following graduation. Later, he worked for Procter & Gamble as a Maintenance Manager. From 1990 until 2016, Bob worked for Bechtel and through progressive responsibilities his projects have taken him around the United States, as well as stints living in Mexico and Egypt. He has worked on projects on every continent, except Antarctica. His work has been in the business lines of oil, gas, chemical, power, and environmental cleanup
Bob has been an Engineering Manager on the largest nuclear waste facility in the world ($17 billion). The vitrified waste is turned into glass for subsequent safe, long-term storage in the national nuclear waste repository. This facility is being built at the Hanford Engineer Works. His last project was an $11 billion liquefied natural gas (LNG) facility in Queensland, Australia. It was selected as the 2016 Worldwide Industrial Project of the Year by ENR.
He is a member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, the National Fire Protection Association, the American Nuclear Society, the American Society for Engineering Management, the Project Management Institute, Tau Beta Pi, and Alpha Chi Sigma. Bob serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the Alpha Chi Sigma Educational Foundation. He is listed in Who's Who in Engineering, Who's Who in America, and Who's Who in the World.
In support of the Missouri University of Science and Technology, Bob joined the Order of the Golden Shillelagh in 1998. He has served the Corporate Development Council as Chair of the Benchmarking Team and later, the Distance Learning Team. He was a member of the Chemical Engineering Industrial Advisory Council. Bob received the honorary degree for Professional Distinction in Chemical Engineering in December 2017. He resides in Dallas, Texas. Bob was inducted into the Academy in 2004 and currently serves as its President.
