Jim spent a great deal of his career with C.K. Williams & Company in East St. Louis, Illinois, where he was Vice President of Production & Personnel and a Director, until Pfizer acquired C.K. Williams in 1962. He retired from Pfizer in 1976 after serving a term as President of the Minerals, Pigments and Metals Division. Jim served as President of the St. Louis section of AIChE and as President of the Belleville District #175 Board of Education among many other professional and civic affiliations. He and his wife Joan now live in Titusville, Florida, where he serves as a voluntary income tax assistant for the IRS. Jim and Joan became members of OGS in 1981. A notable fact about Jim's family is that both his mother (1901-02) and grandmother (1871-72) attended MSM. The year 1871 is particularly significant as it was just the second year of MSM's operation as a college. Jim passed away on May 31, 2005. Jim was inducted into the Academy in 1996.
