FRANK J. DOERING |
In 1973, Frank began his career with Monsanto Company where he was a research specialist and a group leader who helped determine in pilot plants the process feasibility of two detergent products and a new sulfuric acid catalyst. In 1986, he was promoted to Process Technology Manager where he led the efforts to improve existing Rubber Chemical manufacturing processes by implementing capital projects. In 1994, he became a manager/process consultant for phosporous manufacturing. Frank converted the Queeny pilot plant facility into a self-empowered workforce within one year. In 1997, Frank joined Monsanto Enviro-Chem as Technology Manager to develop new environmental systems in industry mining and fertilizer. In 2003, Frank became a research associate/consultant for Washington University in St. Louis. In 2004, he became project manager for Crosslink, and in 2009 joined Akermin as a process engineer consultant in St. Louis working on a carbon capture project. Frank has expertise for developing or improving chemical processes for manufacturing. He has supervised various multi-functional groups, and was team leader/member of business and manufacturing teams to expand profitability of chemical operations.
Frank has 8 technical articles, 3 conference presentations and 47 Monsanto technical reports. He is a member of AIChE and has served as treasurer and chair on 3 committees, and is an active member of the American Chemical Society. Frank and his wife Barbara reside in Florissant, Missouri and are blessed with three daughters. Frank was inducted into the Academy in 2009.
