Upon graduation, Gary joined Oklahoma State University in 1980 where he continues to be employed as a Professor. In both 1981 and 1982, he was a NASA Summer Faculty Fellow in Pasadena, CA working in the Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Dr. Foutch has spent seven summers in industry and government laboratories working on various projects as a visiting scientist for companies such as Dow Chemical Company in Freeport, Texas; Smith, Kline, & French in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; and Phillips Petroleum Company in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Gary took a Sabbatical Leave as a Fulbright Scholar at the Loughborough University of Technology in England where he conducted research on industrial ion-exchange processes from 1990 to 1991. In 1993, he was an ASEE Summer Faculty Fellow for the Naval Surface Warfare Center in Annapolis, Maryland. Gary has had many consulting positions during his twenty-one years at Oklahoma State University. He currently is a Registered Professional Engineer in Oklahoma, has been an Oklahoma State University Faculty Advisor to the State Regents' Chancellor, Chairman of the University Faculty Council and has received two faculty and one professional award. He is Founder and President of Focus CS, L.C. since 1996 and is a WQA Certified Water Chemistry Specialist. Gary resides in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Gary was inducted into the Academy in 2001.
