Dale began his career at Kraft Foods in June of 1987. He started out in Research and Development as a Senior Research Engineer in cheese products. By 1996, Dale progressed through a variety of R&D positions to become Section Manager of process and product optimization for the salad dressing category. In 1998, he moved to manufacturing to become an Operations Business Team Leader in the Meals Division. In 2002, Dale returned to R&D as an Associate Director in cheese technology. He progressed through several positions to his current role as Senior Director, Ingredient and Process Research.  He is responsible for leadership of basic research in ingredient and process technology.

In 1998, Dale was awarded the Kraft Technology Leadership Award in recognition of his work on breakthrough process technology. He is also the recipient of the 2005 Kraft Foods Cheese and Dairy Sector Innovator of the Year Award, two Kraft Superior Achievement Awards and a co-inventor of two US patents.

Dale and his wife Joan reside in Vernon Hills, Illinois with their two children, Rebecca and Drew.Dale was inducted into the Academy in 2006.
