After graduating from UMR, Veo worked for Monsanto Company in St. Louis as a Process Design Engineer in the Central Engineering Department and then later as a Patent Trainee in the Patent Department. In 1973, he went to work for Ralston Purina as a Patent Agent and later as a Patent Attorney when he received his law degree in 1975. He joined Anheuser-Busch in St. Louis in 1978 as the Associate General Counsel-Patents, Trademarks & Copyrights. From 1984 to 1998, he headed his own law firm known as Peoples, L.L.C. that specializes in patent, trademarks, copyrights, and intellectual property, while also providing other corporate, business law, and litigation services. Peoples, L.L.C. merged with the St. Louis firm of Haverstock, Garrett, & Roberts, where he is now a partner. He was appointed by the Missouri Supreme Court to the 22nd Judicial Circuit Bar Committee from 1984 to 1992. Veo is a member of the Board of Directors of the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis. In addition, he has in the past been actively involved with the Boy Scouts of America as District Commissioner, Western District of St. Louis, the American Cancer Society, the Optimist Club of St. Louis, the St. Louis Ambassadors, and was named to Who's Who in Law by the St. Louis Business Journal in 1994. Veo and his wife Linda reside in the St. Louis area. Veo was inducted into the Academy in 1998.
