Robert started his career with Monsanto as a summer student hourly operator and maintenance laborer. His Monsanto Chemical Manufacturing Management career path began in 1942 and ended in December 1985 with stateside and international assignments as Manufacturing Director.

In 1989, he was recruited by Slay Industries as a Consultant to the Company's President leading to being a mentor across all management disciplines and the establishment of a new approach for reducing engineering and construction costs associated with Capital Projects. Currently representing Slay Industries in providing process engineering and construction guidance to the EnviRes DTX Project (cracking of used motor oil) to be followed by the cracking of high sulfur coal in a totally closed system producing syngas and the recovery of sulfur and mercury.

While Robert was at the Missouri School of Mines he participated with the Blue Key, Independents (GDI), Alpha Chi Sigma, Tau Beta Pi, and Phi Kappa Phi. Robert has been active with the St. Louis Alumni Section and the Order of the Golden Shillelagh. He also received the MSM-UMR Alumni Association Award. Robert and his wife Doris reside in Kirkwood, Missouri. Robert was inducted into the Academy in 2004.
