Terry began his career with the Monsanto Company in 1969 where he started as an Engineer I and worked his way to Senior Fellow-Process Control by the time he retired in 2003.  In 2004, he became a contract engineer for ConocoPhillips Wood River Refinery.  He has 40 years of experience in advance process control, process simulation, process operation, troubleshooting and optimization. Special skills include: simulation with Hysys and Pro/II; operational analysis with engineering software; process control assessments defining improved control strategies and benefits; PRoVox and DeltaV control configurations.

Terry served on the INTECH Editorial Advisory Board from 1992-1996.  He was an adjunct professor for Washington University in 1986 and 2004-2008, a Lehigh University Biannual Lecturer from 1974-1986, an ISA Fellow in 1990, an AIChE Fellow in 2000 and a Registered Professional Engineer since 1974.

He has served as vice-president of ISA Industries & Sciences Department, Chair of ISA Admissions Committee, Director of Fisher/Rosemount Systems User Group, Director of CHEMPID Division of ISA and Director of the St. Louis Section of AIChE.  He has numerous publications and presentations.  Terry and his wife Valerie reside in St. Louis, Missouri.  Terry was inducted into the Academy in 2009.
