    Jim spent his entire career with Amoco, where he began in 1956 at the Whiting, Indiana refinery. He held numerous positions at the company's refining locations, including Manager of the Casper, Wyoming refinery. In 1976 and 1978, respectively, Jim was named General Manger of Purchasing and General Manager of Information Services. He was appointed Vice President of Operations Planning and Transportation in April of 1981, the Vice President of Planning and Administration of Amoco Oil Company in September 1981, and in April 1990 named Executive Director of Crisis Management Planning, where he remained until his retirement in 1994.
    Jim has served on the UMR Corporate Board of Visitors, the Corporate Development Council, and the Chemical Engineering Advisory Committee. He has assisted his community as an active volunteer and Board member with the Greater Chicago Chapter of the American Red Cross since 1982 and serving as Chairman of the Board of Directors from 1991-1994. Jim has also been active with the National Office of the American Red Cross, serving as a member of the Board of Governor's Strategic Planning Committee. Jim and his wife Theresa joined OGS in 1991, and they reside in Olympia Fields, Illinois. Jim was inducted into the Academy in 1997.
